Why Choose Our Tartan Kilts?

Any Occasion Kilt

This kilt looks great and is perfect for any occasion.  It can easily be dressed up for a formal occasion or dressed down for your local Scottish fair.  This kilt will look PERFECT no matter where you wear it.  It will definitely stand out in a crowd.

The size that you choose for your order will be the smallest setting on the buckle straps (i.e. a size 36 adjusts from a 36 up to just under a 40).  Depending on where you want the buckle to end on your waist will determine your size.  A good rule of thumb to follow is to go down 2 inches from your measured waist size.  That will put you in the middle of the buckle straps (i.e. 40 measured would order a 38).
You MUST measure in order to get the correct size.  DO NOT use your pants or jeans size to determine your kilt size.

    It's ok

This is kilt #6 I've bought from UT Kilts. The first one was a standard utility I undergrew, the second and third were a 8 yard acrylic in black watch and a wool in Scottish national. Both were bought off the clearance section, which I eventually undergrew. Those two were the best buys I've had with kilts and made me a loyal customer. Since then I've bought a St Patricks in acrylic, a wool in muted buchanan, a rip stop deluxe utility and now a this latest one. The St Patricks and this one aren't what the original black watch was in terms of weight, quality and length, with the latest black watch and the wool buchanan muted. the buchanan was bought off clearance, so I got what I got, but neither that one nor this latest one are/were 24", Maybe 23.5"ish.. I don't know the changes behind the scene, but it seems like that quality has dropped. I usually can get away with a 24", but a 25" is better, which the Scottish national wool was. I have to wear this one below the navel otherwise it's above the knee a bit. I think the Pakistani tailors need to check their rulers/tape measures and maybe some quality checks. I was hoping this kilt was like the last black watch I bought here, but it isn't. I think it's time to spend more money and have a kilt made for me in the US. Brice always gives great service and he's competitive price wise, but I think he needs to go back to the heavier materials in the fabric and straps if he wants my business anymore.

    UT Kilts:
I am sorry it did not live up to your standards. We have reached out and, of course, offer a return for a refund or exchange.

    Black Watch Acrylic Kilt

Posted by Russell Campbell on 29th Aug 2018

Impressive! I recently purchased a custom-made wool kilt from another vendor. The wool kilt cost more than 10x the price of this acrylic one. The acrylic version feels and looks like wool - I have no idea how this is possible! It's a great value and I think that it works for any occasion. A great starter kilt, good for athletics, or a presentable back - up for more formal events.

    Black Watch Tartan Kilt

Posted by K Bryant on 17th Aug 2018

After much debate and delay, I finally bought a UTKilt tartan kilt for a Highland festival in my hometown. I was amazed at what I got! I was expecting something on the order of flannel shirt material, not the beautiful, beefy garment that I received. My wife swore it was wool and even went ballistic when I told her I spent $300 for a wool kilt! The leather sporran and hose were also exceptional quality for the reasonable price. They say you get what you pay for - unless you shop UTKilts, where you get more that you pay for.

    Great Fit

Posted by Lou on 14th Mar 2018

This was a great fit, lightweight, and looks awesome. Much lighter than my 100% wool kilt, and hangs like a more expensive kilt. Next kilt will probably be an Ulster. Wish you had a Seabee tartan.

    Great first kilt

Posted by ESL on 5th Mar 2018

This was my first kilt purchase, intended for use doing swordfighting demonstrations. Since I expect to get a bit of damage (we're using fencing epee blades) I didn't want to pay a whole lot. Much to (very pleasant) surprise, the quality was far more than I expected and I'm having a hard time not wearing this kilt all the time.
Just one thing to watch out for: the points on the buckles are very, very sharp. Fortunately, they file down easily enough.

    A wedding

Posted by Henry on 18th Dec 2017

I debuted this kilt to my friend's wedding and it was a success ( without stealing my firends' wedding). I am the 4-5th maybe human sporting a kilt in Costa Rica, but as far as I'm aware, I'm doing it with the right gear

    My first kilt

This kilt was so much more than I expected for the price. My friend paid 5 times the price and didn't get near the quality.

    A Kilt Of Quality Acrylic

Posted by D. Zynda on 24th Jul 2017

I have several kilts of the traditional kind... Both Acrylic and Wool. There quality of fabric used on this particular kilt is of a much higher calibre than I had expected. Not to mention the excellent build quality that I've come to know from UTKilts product lines. Once again, Brice, thank you for your high quality standards. Your work is much appreciated
