New York City Tartan Scarf
The New York City tartan is a beautiful tartan that we thought would be a good way to help out those in need. A portion of all sales will be donated to the Food Bank for New York City. What a great way to get an amazing tartan and help out a city that is been especially hard hit with the COVID19 virus. The scarf is made in Scotland from 100% worsted wool. Not only can we help the great people of NYC, but we can also support workers around the world that have also been hit hard by this virus. While the tartan was originally created from different events, we believe it is still applicable today as a great way to show support for those in need.
Scottish Tartans Authority: "Designed by Alistair Buchan of Lochacarron to celebrate Tartan Day 6th April 2002 in New York City on the occasion of the greatest parade of Pipes and Drums ever seen. Its original name was 'Tunes of Glory'. Colourings are for the streets and buildings of New York: green is Central Park; blue the rivers (Hudson, Harlem & East) that surround Manhattan; the two black stripes are to honour the memory of the twin towers of the World Trade centre destroyed in "9/11". When Mayor Giuliani saw the tartan he requested that it be called New York City"
