As with everything else Brice sells guys, I have to tell you this pin is sexy, in a manly way! The quality is made to last and is one of my favorites also.
Brice has won my allegiance to purchase everything else kilt related in my future...He is a man of his word and will bend over backwards, (not wearing his kilt tho lol) where I am concerned! He not only stands behind all his products, but guarantees quality and has THE BEST prices as well!
I highly recommend you guys check out everything else he is offering, not to forget adding your name to his email list.
The look of the pin is great. The quality and weight seems good. The downfall is in the latch. It is terrible. It broke within the first few hours of wearing. The needle portion is held in place by two parts of metal squeezed together. The lock that holds the needle closed is the same. Two pieces of metal squeezed together.
I am sorry this item did not work out for you. I believe you have one that is defective and as I stated in my email to you, we would have replaced it at no charge.
I had originally ordered a different pin from here, and the first time I opened it the clasp fell apart. I notified Bryce, and he not only sent me this as a replacement, he was great about getting it to me in just a couple of days. Super-pleased!
Also. A. Great. Kilt. Pin very. Pleased. Thanks
I ordered the Rampant Lion kilt pin in bronze tone. This pin broke the first time I tried to use it. The shaft of the pin is held to the decoration by two pieces of soft metal (think tin) that are supposed to hold it by tensioning the pin between them. The metal is too weak and the shaft deforms them when any force is applied, as in attaching it to the kilt. This is more of a bad toy than a kilt accessory. Love my UT kilt, but the pin is not worthy.
You are right! A pin like that is not worthy of what we sell. I am trying to find your original order and contact you about a free replacement.
Excellent kilt pin is a sturdy accessory for my new kilt.
I had my kilt for a week or two without the pin. I figured it was just "to make the kilt more flashy" second time wearing my kilt while shopping, I saw the importance of the pin. Slight breeze kicked up...Let's just say I'm lucky no one was around, or they may have found the answer to "What do they wear under those?"
Make sure to pin it to the front apron only, about four inches up, and maybe two inches from the side. It's just heavy enough to keep the wind at bay, without weighing the kilt down.
Awesome weight - not killing it on heavy side but heavy enough to get the job done and not fly away. Far better than the other kilt pin I own in the price range and on par with my dress pin that i paid considerably more for. mine is the antique brass finish - looks great and has nice high and low lights. matches the brass buttons and buckles on my blackwatch utility kilt perfectly!
This a nice heavy (but not too heavy) metal pin, and the clasp is very well attached (I've had some from other companies that have broken quite quickly). The finish (antique black in this case) matches my buckle perfectly.
