Standard Dark Khaki Utility Kilt Ripstop

The ripstop is a lightweight, extremely durable fabric that is used in a variety of very demanding situations.

The UTKilts Standard Utility kilt has become the standard that all others try to follow.  Although it is our lowest priced utility kilt, it has the same durable and long lasting constructions as any of our more expensive kilts.  Two cargo pockets on each side will fit the common items a guy wants to carry these days.  Pleats are also sewn down to make sure you always get that perfect look, no matter the activity.  It also has two sets of snaps to make sure you have a solid, comfortable fit.  Don't let anyone tell you that GREAT quality can't come with a LOW price on a utility kilt.  The UTKilts Standard Utility Kilt gives you amazing quality, low price, and a fabulous look.  You won't find anything like this anywhere else!

Features Include:

  • 2 snap closures (one on the inside)
  • 2 extra snap closures to allow 1 inch expansion in the waist
  • 2 large cargo pockets on each side
  • Durable, light weight Ripstop material
  • All sizes have 22" total length
  • Lifetime warranty on all metal hardware (free replacements sent)
  • 2-3 day shipping via Priority Mail

Other Colors Available

Several other colors and styles are available in our standard utility kilt style.  Check them out here.  We also have tartan kilts in this style that can be found here.

Sizing / Measuring

It is extremely important you follow our measuring video and order the size you need based on your measurement, not pants size. All of men's pants are labeled 2-4 inches smaller than what they actually measure. Please see our measuring video below or checkout or measuring page here.

If you measure an even size like 38 or 40, then order that exact size.  If you fall in between sizes we typically recommend ordering up in size for a loose, but comfortable fit.  However, each size has an extra set of snaps to go up one inch in waist size.  If you prefer a snug fit then you can order down if measure an odd size (example: 37 can go up to a 38 for a loose, comfortable fit or down to a 36 for  snug fit)

Custom waist sizes, lengths, or colors
Need a waist size or length not listed here?  Looking for a different color? Checkout our special order listing here that will allow you to customize the kilt to your exact waist and length (only recommended if our in stock sizes won't work).  We also have many other colors listed there that we can custom order to your specific size.

I personally want to thank UT Kilts for making such a great product. I am greatly impressed with their product. This kilt is light weight material that is durable and is of a high quality product.

I own 6 kilts and this one has become my favorite. I plan on purchasing more Kilts from this company.

This was my first kilt. I really like the way it fits and the way it looks.

I was leary about a non-cotton kilt, but this is lighter and cooler than my cotton. The boys are happy in this summer heat, I would recommend this to anyone.

    Excellent quality and finish!

I was looking for a summer-weight kilt and this one fit the bill. I was somewhat hesitant given its extremely reasonable price, but I am very happy with it. My first reaction to the fabric was that it felt a bit like wearing a tent, and the waist was quite stiff. But after the first wash (and dry) it softened up beautifully and its very comfy. This is particularly important when wearing it in the "traditional" manner.

    Ripstop Utility

Posted by Danny on 19th May 2020

Ive been wearing my family kilt in Southern California since I was about 17. Was doing it before it was "en vogue and cool". I got older, and rounder, and had to add extension straps. Traditional custom kilts can run a pretty penny ($500+) now I'm in my mid 40s, and still doing work...I wanted a kilt i could still wear and work in. So after researching a great many, it czme down to UTkilts. They had the style, the fit, and the personalized Customer service. My measurements skills were off an inch...but the kilt still fits, tad loose...belts are amazing.
I will definitely be ordering another one..or two in the future. Awesome Company Bryce!!

    Standard Ripstop

New to the kilt thing, this was the second kilt I bought (my first was an acrylic tartan utility of inferior quality) and I really enjoy it. It's a bit shorter than I'd like, the hem resting at the top of my knee cap, but I just wear it around my pant waist. The light weight is great for the South!

    At Work

Posted by Jeremy on 28th Sep 2019

I bought my kilt for use throughout the summer in NC while working my warehouse/delivery job. Tasks include climbing over railings, sitting on the forklift, bending to pick up pipe. I am submitting this review after having worn my kilt 12+ times over the last few months.

As an owner of two other kilts, this is the first with cargo pockets. The pockets are essential for carrying all my stuff, but require a lift and drop each time I sit down (otherwise I'm sitting on full pockets.) I do not wear a belt or sporran with my kilt. Even so, I find the waist snaps are absolutely reliable. I do not use the side straps as they cause unnecessary tension on the apron and unsightly creases. The ripstop material has expressed durability, and I am surprised that I've been able to keep it clean up to now.

My biggest complaint is the lack of fabric spacing. I think the two key areas are the apron under-pleat measuring 2 inches vs 5.5 inches on my Irish National (acrylic) kilt and the under apron measuring 13 inches vs 17 inches on my I.N. kilt. As a result, I am regularly adjusting the pin corner of my apron.
