Standard II Dark Khaki Modern Utility Kilt

The UTKilts Standard II Utility kilt has become the standard that all others try to follow.  Although it is our lowest priced utility kilt, it has the same durable and long lasting constructions as any of our more expensive kilts.  Two cargo pockets on each side will fit the common items a guy wants to carry these days.  Pleats are also sewn down to make sure you always get that perfect look, no matter the activity.  It also has two sets of snaps to make sure you have a solid, comfortable fit.  Don't let anyone tell you that GREAT quality can't come with a LOW price on a utility kilt.  The UTKilts Standard II Utility Kilt gives you amazing quality, low price, and a fabulous look.  You won't find anything like this anywhere else!

Features Include:

  • 2 snap closures (one on the inside)
  • 2 extra snap closures to allow 1 inch expansion in the waist
  • 2 large cargo pockets on each side
  • Durable, long lasting Poly-Cotton material
  • Lifetime warranty on all metal hardware (free replacements sent)
  • 2-3 day shipping via Priority Mail

Difference between the Standard and Standard II

The Standard II utility kilt is very similar to the regular standard but there are some key differences.  The Standard II does not have the side buckle straps on the right hip.  It also has 3 functional snaps on the front apron.

Other Colors Available

Several other colors are available in our standard and standard II utility kilt styles.  Check them out here

Sizing / Measuring

It is extremely important you follow our measuring video and order the size you need based on your measurement, not pants size. All of men's pants are labeled 2-4 inches smaller than what they actually measure. Please see our measuring video below or checkout or measuring page here.

If you measure an even size like 38 or 40, then order that exact size.  If you fall in between sizes we typically recommend ordering up in size for a loose, but comfortable fit.  However, each size has an extra set of snaps to go up one inch in waist size.  If you prefer a snug fit then you can order down if measure an odd size (example: 37 can go up to a 38 for a loose, comfortable fit or down to a 36 for  snug fit)

Custom waist sizes, lengths, or colors
Need a waist size or length not listed here?  Looking for a different color? Checkout our special order listing here that will allow you to customize the kilt to your exact waist and length (only recommended if our in stock sizes won't work).  We also have many other colors listed there that we can custom order to your specific size.

    Let's go round 2!

Posted by Curtis on 14th Jul 2017

My second kilt from UTKilts and I am still very pleased! This in a 38 fits me slightly better than the deluxe in the same size, I measured myself at 37 and this is a bit more snug than the deluxe for me. This is nice without the straps on the side, quicker on and off. The straps are nice for my deluxe as I use it for outdoor recreation and the extra security is nice but this is good for casual wear. The color is similar to a Carhartt khaki rather than a more traditional khaki but I like it. Excellent product!

Posted by Adwell on 11th Jun 2017

Ordered for my hubby, first thing i was contacted by email stating yhey didnt have his size in yhe color i ordered so i switched to black, then the first day he wore it two of the snaps pulled off, we were out and about so i had to run into a local fabric shop and spent $12 to get yhe stuff to fix the snaps so he would not be flashing everyone

I am so sorry this happened! Please contact me and I would be happy to fix this at no charge to you.

Is nice to be able to wash it in a machine, but I'll stick to hand washing my kilts.

    Shipping was right on time.
Am going to order more,in other colors. Am thinking about the camp one next.

    Nice first kilt

Posted by John T on 2nd May 2017

Ordered on a Sunday and it arrived in Ohio on Wednesday. Disappointed in the color as the picture online looks like a medium brown/gray, instead it is a Carhartt orangy-brown. But I'll use this one as my work kilt. I washed it in cold water on gentle cycle and hung it on skirt hangers over nite. Ironing was very easy on high heat and it looks great! Fit is very nice, stitching is even and neat. Super comfortable! Does wrinkle after sitting. Some friends at work laughed when I said I got a kilt and I told them "when you get balls big enough to wear one, you're going to love it!" Very liberating! If you have an interest in kilts this is a great place to start.

Very rugged, although a bit stiff at first

I love this kilt. It's my 6th. It will not stop wrinkling, no matter what you do. Looks great after an ironing, just don't sit down in it. Because it's a utility kiit, you can possibly go down one size if you plan on wearing it at your pants waist rather than belly button waist. When working in the yard, it tends to slide down bit, but nothing that a belt doesn't fix.

    Nice but tight

Posted by Michael on 6th Apr 2017

After getting a deluxe to confirm sizing, I ordered a few more including one of these because i liked the simpler design. The pockets are a lot better than the standard model.

Although the waist is perfect it's a bit tight around the hips on me and needs to be worn higher than the equivalent size standard/deluxe. So bear that in mind if you have a thin waist vs hips, otherwise i'd have given it 4*s. Too early to tell if it will wear in.

I've been wearing a ut kilt as drinking-wear for the last couple of weeks. I mostly get ignored but have had some funny looks and the occasional compliment, very uncommon clothing in this Australian city!
