Sizing / Measuring
It is extremely important you follow our measuring video and order the size you need based on your measurement, not pants size. All of men's pants are labeled 2-4 inches smaller than what they actually measure. Please see our measuring video below or checkout or measuring page here.
If you measure an even size like 38 or 40, then order that exact size. If you fall in between sizes, you can order down to the nearest even size for a snug fit or up in size for a loose fit. Because this kilt has a velcro waist, you has some adjustment that can be made. However, you don't want to be too far off from your measured waist size.
One of the biggest questions that also come up about sizing is weight loss / gain. If your waist fluctuates within 2-3 inches, you can order the size your waist will be at the middle point of your fluctuation. When weight loss is a goal, you can order smaller. However, keep in mind that that the kilt should only be 2 - 3 inches smaller than what you measure (3 inches is pushing to the limit. 1.5 - 2 is best). For example, if you measure 45 but will eventually get down to a 42, you can order a 42. Just keep in mind the 42 will be a tight fit and won't hang correctly until you can tighten up closer to the 42.
With that said, we always recommend ordering as close to your current waist measurement as possible for the best fit.

I figured I would Finally write a review. I have had this Kilt for almost a year now and I rarely wear pants anymore. I also have the Ultimate Utility with comfort waist in khaki . I love the weight of the black canvas cotton(compared to the khaki), the front snap apron and the hook/latch closure. It easy to wash, though ironing is a bit of a pain but that is just the nature of the kilt. The belt loops are big enough for a traditional 2.25 kilt if you choose to do that. I don't really use the Hook clips but they are cool if you need them.
the only real issue is the removable pocket system. It is nice but also a bit of a pain. They hold a fair amount and are easy to use but they catch on everything and tend to tear off. It's a good thing there is a redundancy because you are constantly re-snapping or securing the hook and latch Sometimes the only thing holding them on is the closure flap and I have left one or two in the car or chair at times. The belt loops on the back of them seem like a nice alternative until you realize if you use them you can't close the pockets because the closure flaps are part of the main kilt. Plus Like others I had a issue with the hook and lack strips coming off but it is nothing a little liquid stitch didn't fix. Overall for the Money this is a great kilt.
Customer Service it Great. I had a issue with both of the kilts I ordered but Brice Made it right withing days of contacting him.
Received this kilt as a gift. I am just amazed of the quality, look and fit; a true piece of craftsmanship. This is going to last a very long time. Thank you Brice and your team!!!
I got this kilt a week ago and it's light yet durable and really well-made !! I'm amazingly surprise by the incredible quality at such a low price. I definitely recommend it !
I just got this kilt in the mail today, and it exceeds my expectations in every way possible. I love how the pockets are removable. I highly recommend this kilt and UT Kilts in general.
Its has a great feel and very comfortable and they are super helpful when choosing what kilt to get I will be buying more in the future
the kilt was well made. and comfortable . shipping was very fast. the chat abiliity was great for choosing my size. which i choose a slightly smaller size than recommend. (based on the adjustable waist) my only issue was with the removable pockets . it seems that the maker of the pockets did not sew the velcro completely on one of the pockets. no worries though.
i am handy with a needle and thread. and yes i will come back to purchase another one. which will be in my family tartan.
My husband is very, very skinny and I was concerned the smallest size wouldn’t fit his 28” waist but it did, looks great, great length and arrived super fast. Well designed and seems quite sturdy.
I only gave it 4 stars because it does not have 2 rear inside the kilt pockets like the Delux Utility Kilt has. I do not like the removable rear pockets that come with it. They get in the way when setting and flop when walking. If they ever put the 2 rear inside pockets I would probably buy all of them in all colors. This is my first kilt and I can't tell you how much I like the feeling of being free of jeans. PLEASE make the suggested changes notify me so I can buy more. Also, I love the Velcro closure, makes it easy the put on and remove and let out or take it up little. Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanking you in advance
Pretty nice kilt. Color is true, drop is good, no loose stitches, the removable pockets are great and it seems just as sturdy (if not more) as some of my other kilts in this price range. Hardware, pockets, clips and snaps all seem solid and well attached. I would recommend it and would also consider buying another UT Kilt model.
The reason for the 4/5 star is the fit. When I measured with a tape, I measured a comfortable 38" w/ room for two fingers between the tape and my waist. The 38 I received (with the velcro band at its fully closed position) is actually more of a 36". This isn't really a problem since the velcro band allows for adjustment in the fit but what it DOES affect are the snaps on the apron being a couple of inches off from the corresponding snaps. For me its not a deal breaker in my opinion, I have wool kilts that don't use any buttons. I just don't do cartwheels in them.
