Sizing / Measuring
It is extremely important you follow our measuring video and order the size you need based on your measurement, not pants size. All of men's pants are labeled 2-4 inches smaller than what they actually measure. Please see our measuring video below or checkout or measuring page here.
If you measure an even size like 38 or 40, then order that exact size. If you fall in between sizes, you can order down to the nearest even size for a snug fit or up in size for a loose fit. Because this kilt has a velcro waist, you has some adjustment that can be made. However, you don't want to be too far off from your measured waist size.
One of the biggest questions that also come up about sizing is weight loss / gain. If your waist fluctuates within 2-3 inches, you can order the size your waist will be at the middle point of your fluctuation. When weight loss is a goal, you can order smaller. However, keep in mind that that the kilt should only be 2 - 3 inches smaller than what you measure (3 inches is pushing to the limit. 1.5 - 2 is best). For example, if you measure 45 but will eventually get down to a 42, you can order a 42. Just keep in mind the 42 will be a tight fit and won't hang correctly until you can tighten up closer to the 42.
With that said, we always recommend ordering as close to your current waist measurement as possible for the best fit.

I did not expect the material to be this heavy. When say heavy I mean high quality. I love the pockets and the versatility of this kilt.
I love my new KILT!!
Not only is the Kilt well made, its comfortable and stylish, I just got mine and cant wait to start wearing it!
Love the color.
The material feels really soft.
The fit was a little tight, (that was my fault, damm you holiday food!!) since it has velcro it will work until I loose that holiday inch.
Received my UTkilt today (fast shipment, just in time for my next week end BBQ !!).
As good as the one I purchased years ago : perfect fit thanks to the 'how to size your kilt" page, and exactly what I was expecting.
Thanks team.. you rock !
Would love one of these, however the standard length does not work for me. I reckon all of your customers are tall.
I did not realize that freedom like this existed, it is the first kilt I have bought or worn but it will not be the last. It did run a little big on the waist size but nothing a belt cant fix.
Customer service was outstanding they emailed me back at the same time that I was emailing and didn't have to wait days for a response and they fixed the problem I had on the spot and answered all questions. It is the best dealing I have had with any customer service. thank you all
Love. The. Kilt. Fits. Perfect. And. Plenty. Of. Space. Pockets. Need. Some. Thought. To. Design. Other. Than. That. Try. Are. Great
This is my first utility kilt so the experience is a little different from my standard/traditional and running/hiking kilts. When I first picked it up, I thought 'wow is this heavy!' however, after putting it on and adjusting it a bit here and there, I found it to sit very comfortably around my waist and on my hips. The cotton canvas material is very dense, but super comfortable at the same time. I thought it would be bulky when sitting, but as long as you sweep the pleats, there isn't a problem. A quick wash helped get out the creases from shipping, and I'm thinking that another wash or two will help relax the cotton a bit more. The only drawbacks thus far, is that the pleats flair out a bit more than I expected based on the pictures, and as others have mentioned, as a shorter guy (5' 7") a 22 inch drop offering would be nice. I feel like I'm wearing the kilt a bit higher than I would like to keep the length at the center of my knee. Overall, a very nicely contructed garment and I expect to get many years of wear out of it. Well done!
